Do you know what I hate, dread, fear, and procrastinate slightly dislike doing? Laundry. Laundry. Laundry. Ugh. What is the only thing besides a maid that could make it any better?
A Pretty Laundry Room to work in!
Now, the Hubs doubted me- he saw no reason for this little make-over- Nay Sayer!! Not only do I spend a lot of time working in there- but we walk through this room to go in and out of our garage multiple times a day.
So… after a huge plan of emptying the room and adding board and batten and new paint and a new shelf above the old shelf…. I got tired. Thus it turned into- foam chair rail 3/4th up on the wall- with a gorgeous gray/blue above that- and four hooks (conveniently there are four of us- unfortunately one of us has several coat options:) – I wanted glossy black accents so- I spray painted a hook I alreayd had in there and with 4 frames from the dollar store and four print outs I had some art too!
Now- is it the palladium I had dreamt of? maybe not. But is it a lot better and even the Hubs admits it? YES!
I was loosing sleep over my mismatched baskets on the top shelf… as I’m sure most people would… but Target had the perfect little plastic jobbies to hold some cleaner and crafty stuff- cute and cheap with little black accents!
and last but not least my dollar frames and printed out numbers… oh and those pesky hooks that gave me high blood pressure trying to hang…
It was a pretty quick job- and added a lot- and no, the chair rail was not perfect, but that’s what caulking is for! And once again my horrible walls made for an interesting time hanging hooks but so far so good!
Hope you are having a great week!
B:)

Hi, I just found your blog through “Thrifty Thursday”! I’m also in the middle of “redoing” our laundry room. The difference between you and me is that I like doing laundry! Maybe I just need a life, lol! I’m your newest follower. I’m a new blogger, still “tweaking”. Would love to have you stop by sometime if you get a chance, and follow back!
I also get tired in the middle of big projects! LOL I think it looks great and you can always add board and batten later! I love the look of the black against the blue and white. Now if there were just less laundry…..
Thanks for linking!
