Crazy? Maybe. But I am all about making it easy- and this my friends… was easy. Nail Polish… it dries fast and is a gorgeous gloss without a top coat so why not use it as an accent paint?!
Obviously this would not be practical for a large project- but for a small one- the colors and possibilities are endless! I had the perfect tester project. I bought these white vases at Target on mega clearance a long time ago. They have since moved around the house but haven’t really found a great home- so why not make them a fun accent for Valentine’s Day?
I chose my favorite nail polish colors- Essie in Power Clutch (a dark grey) and OPI Red My Fortune Cookie and just went to town!
Before:
I love the simplicity of the cross design and it is also a bit more versatile than the classic hearts or polka dots. I really did this quickly- I knew it wouldn’t be perfect unless I taped it off and that wasn’t the look I was going for, so I just dove in! I did go back and do a second coat and where there were a couple smudges, I simply scratched them off with my finger nail.
Now it’s a cute accent piece to display! And guess what? If I get tired of it… I just use a little razor blade and scrape it off… no harm, no foul.
And tell me this isn’t cute with a little burlap heart… you might… but don’t be mean.
